ICTS Ghent: Double the Capacity, Double the Efficiency

Expanded Workshop Facilities
The ICTS site in Ghent has undergone a remarkable expansion, effectively doubling its operational capacity. Previously operating with 10 single bays (including 2 double bays), we now have 20 single bays. This was made possible by redefining the purpose of a second hall as a fully operational workshop, known as Hall 2. This additional space provides greater flexibility for repairs and maintenance, enabling us to handle more trailers simultaneously.

Modernized Infrastructure
To complement this expansion, several aspects of the facility have been modernized to enhance efficiency:

• New and refurbished gates: Six new gate openings were created—three on each side of Hal 2. Additionally, the eight gates on the northwest side of the workshop were replaced with new modern alternatives, while three older gates were refurbished and relocated to the southeast side.
• Compressed air system: The compressed air infrastructure has been overhauled. A new Atlas Copco compressor ensures consistent air pressure across all bays, whilst a supplementary pressure tank prevents pressure loss. This system also supplies air to the workshop pits, enhancing safety and usability.
• Upgraded lighting: All workshop lighting, including pit lights, has been replaced with energy-efficient LEDs, creating a brighter and more sustainable working environment.
• Improved safety measures: Barriers have been installed to prevent damage from trucks entering the site at night, offering added security and peace of mind.

New Services: H-Plate and CEMT Inspections

The upgraded Ghent site is now equipped to handle inspections for H-plate trailers, a new requirement for trailers operating solely within the port. ICTS is one of only three providers in Ghent authorized to conduct these inspections. Additionally, we now offer CEMT inspections in collaboration with SBAT, making it easier for transporters to meet international road transport standards.
