ICTS recently completed the rebuild of several second-hand mega curtainsider trailers into mega flatbed trailers. Instead of taking the trailers out of circulation, the units were adapted for a new purpose and prepared for a second life with the customer.
During the rebuild, the complete upper structure was removed. Parts such as sliding curtains, steel posts, corner posts, aluminium top rails, doors and curtain slats were carefully separated and sent for recycling.
The trailers were then converted from Dutch to Belgian registration. The Certificate of Conformity was updated from curtainsider to flatbed, after which the trailers were technically inspected in Belgium and delivered to the customer.
This project shows how existing trailer equipment can be reused in a practical and responsible way. By rebuilding second-hand trailers for a new application, ICTS extends the life of the equipment while reducing waste and making better use of valuable materials.
