On Saturday, April 21st, the ICTS Academy organized another technical training session, this time in collaboration with Dhollandia. Pol Derie, Commercial Director at Dhollandia, visited the Gent site to share his knowledge with a group of 25 enthusiastic employees. The main topic? Tail lifts – from installation to maintenance and safety.
Mr. Derie has worked at Dhollandia, the world’s largest manufacturer of tail lifts, for 32 years. What began in the workshop eventually led to a senior commercial role. This combination of hands-on experience and product knowledge made his presentation especially valuable. In addition to an engaging introduction to the family-owned company, which produces about 90,000 tail lifts annually, he shared insights into common defects, the benefits of preventive maintenance, and the importance of using original parts.
The safety of technicians was also extensively covered. What tools are necessary, which procedures should be followed, and how can risks be identified in time? The training provided our colleagues with concrete information to work even more effectively on tail lifts.
After Mr. Derie’s presentation, it was Bryan Vanacker’s turn, Key Accounts Manager at ICTS. Bryan is responsible for the collaboration with bpost within the Group and provided the attendees with additional practical insights. Thanks to his extensive experience with tail lifts, especially with the double-decker trailers used by bpost, he was able to translate technical theory into everyday practice.
