100 Years of LKW WALTER

In honor of LKW WALTER’s 100-year milestone, Christoph Ampferer, Group Team Leader Fleet-Management, recently visited ICTS’ facilities in Ghent and Zeebrugge, Belgium.

During his visit, Mr Ampferer sat down with our Marketing & Communication Manager, Robine, for an insightful interview evaluating over a decade of partnership.

For LKW WALTER, what sets ICTS apart in terms of service quality and reliability?

Based on our experience, what sets ICTS apart in terms of service quality and reliability for LKW WALTER is their commitment to excellence and their expertise in the field. Over the years, ICTS has demonstrated an understanding of our needs, especially at the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium, where we operate frequently.

Initially focusing on repairs for LKW WALTER trucks with German registration, ICTS has evolved with us, seamlessly transitioning to servicing our fleet as we received the first trailers registered in Belgium. Their reliability in conducting legally required annual inspections for our vehicles has been instrumental in ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.

In essence, ICTS’ ability to adapt to our evolving needs, coupled with their commitment to service excellence and reliability, makes them an important partner in maintaining the high standards of our fleet operations.

How do you envision our partnership evolving in the future?

While we strive to maintain relationships with multiple service providers, the fact that ICTS currently handles approximately 70% of our inspections in key Belgian ports like Zeebrugge, Antwerp, and Ghent, speaks volumes about their reliability and capability to meet our needs.

Their proven track record in adhering to inspection deadlines, flexibly managing peak periods, and consistently delivering high-quality service positions them as a trusted partner for the future.

Despite market challenges, our fleet is steady at around 15,000 trailers, and we remain optimistic for future improvements and further expansion of our fleet.

How would you describe your experience working with the ICTS team?

Apart from the trusting basis of the cooperation with Mr Jan Coene, over the course of our partnership, our interactions with Christopher and other key contacts, such as Stef in Zeebrugge, Jan in Ghent, Paulina in Antwerp, the team in Gdynia, Poland, and the whole staff, have been marked by a spirit of openness and mutual respect.

Our collaboration has consistently been smooth, productive and flexible, focusing on positive outcomes, even in challenging situations.
